Pallanguzhi
Ali Guli Mane, the sowing game. Two rows of seven cups, six tamarind seeds in each, and a store at either end. Whoever gathers the most seeds keeps the board.
Sowing
On your turn, lift every seed from one of your cupsand drop them one per cup onward round the board — off the end of your row, back along theirs. When your hand empties, lift the next cup and carry on sowing.
Taking
If the cup after your last seed is empty, the cup beyond it is yours: take its seeds to your store, and the turn ends. Two empty cups in a row, and the turn simply ends.
Any cup that comes to exactly four seeds during a sowing is a pasu, a cow. Whoever is sowing takes it at once, wherever it sits, and carries on.
Rounds
When the player to move has nothing to lift, the round is over: what is left on the board goes to the side it lies on. Each player then refills their cups from their store, six a cup. Cups you cannot fill stay closed for the round, and seeds skip over them.
A player who cannot fill even one cup has lost. After six rounds the stores are counted, and the fuller one wins. Forty moves in a round with nothing taken ends that round early.
